Rules of 2 Average Joes Golf

The following list is the set of rules by which 2 Average Joes play by:

1) First person to tee off on the first hole is random.  In other words, whoever is ready first gets the priviledge of making a fool of themselves in front of the clubhouse and others waiting for their tee time.  All other holes is determined by who won the previous.  "Your honor, your Honor," is not required to be said, but any Caddyshack fan should throw this out from time to time.

2) If after a drive both (or all) Average Joes shank, slice, hook, loose, etc. a shot whereby a second shot cannot be made, then both (or all) Average Joes receive an automatic free mulligan for that hole to re-drive off the tee.  If after the second drive, the same incident occurs, then both (or all) Average Joes must drop the ball half the distance to the hole any where on the fairway.  (We do not want to be the ones causing the slowness of play.)  If by any chance one of the Average Joes does have a playable shot, then the bad shot Average Joe(s) must take a drop by the playable shot and add a stroke.

3) Any shot that is found is deemed playable provided it is not on personal property.  However, if the ball is located in an area that could be dangerous to the Average Joe or clubs (IE. Hitting a tree in the backswing or hitting concrete on the downswing) then the ball may be moved to a playable position.  Depending on the severity of the move, a stroke may be added.

4) Any shot that is lost due to water, tall grass, ball eating Palm Trees, or any other obstacle that comes into play will be dropped near the closest ball that is still in play and a stroke will be added.

5) When putting, if the ball is close to the hole (within one inch) after the putt, a "give me" will be issued.  The exception to this rule is if the hole is very close in strokes, then the shot will be counted as a miss and the tap in will be added to the stroke count.

6) Any PGA tour rules can be implemented at time during play provided that once the rule is implemented it continues throughout the remainder of the round.  (IE. Club touching the sand when approaching a shot in the bunker.  If other Average Joe calls the rule and hitting Average Joe takes the penalty, then all Average Joes are subject to this rule for remainder of play.)  Be careful what you call, it may come back to haunt you.

7) Mulligans are allowed one per nine holes, except when rule #2 comes into play.

8) Maximum strokes per hole is triple bogey.

9) Game play must be determined prior to starting round... Match or stroke.

10) Rules are subject to change at anytime.
